This was the final exit of the show. I loved the vibrant colors and the excellent cut of the long gowns. The embellishment and embroidery is just exquisite.

The video doesn’t do justice to the incredible detailed workmanship on these gorgeous gowns. I was seated in pole position and wanted to reach out and touch the fabric as the girls went by. The emerald green numbers were among my favorites. I also liked the peach gown that had an exquisite bolero-jacket-like top.
Silk, satin, crepe, jersey – the material was so beautifully tailored to fit the body and fell so gracefully across the form. One number – a red/pink short dress with lots of silver studded embroidery – drew gasps, as did an amazing pink long gown with detailed silver work.
There were many red carpet pieces and hopefully it won’t be just Teri Hatcher, Olivia Wilde or Carrie Underwood, who will be wearing her clothes.
Oh, and it was a treat seeing America’s Next Top Model winner from a few seasons ago, Jaslene Gonzalez, walk the ramp! Tyra Banks would be proud!
I’m attending the Farah Angsana Couture Spring 2009 show tomorrow at the Metropolitan Pavilion in Chelsea. It’s a great location in a fabulous neighborhood.
Since her first showing in New York last year, Farah Angsana has had a string of celebrities don her glamorous frocks. Terri Hatcher, Carrie Underwood, Olivia Wilde have all picked Farah Angsana Couture dresses for black tie and red carpet events and received great reviews. Her drapery is exquisite and I really hope I get to sit right by the runway so that I can see the details and hear the swish of the material as the models sashay by.
I leave you with some of her pervious creations and will gleefully Twitter her show tomorrow.
I was at Carolina Herrera. It was packed, and I was way up in the boondocks – amazed I saw anything at all but very happy to be part of the experience. There were lots of ruffles, lots of frills, and very, very elegant clothes from this fashion doyenne. My little N75 was not quite up to the video task, but it took video and sound that really showed how packed the place was.
The colors started out Spanish red, and that Latin theme carried through the show. Ruffles across bare shoulders, embellishing necklines, trailing from hems – they added accents to body-hugging gowns, tops, and skirts. Reds changed to a whole spectrum of colors; my favorites were the saffron yellow pieces and this black evening gown that screamed RED CARPET!. We will definitely be seeing Carolina Herrera come Oscar season, if not sooner!
I like the longer dresses that came out towards the end of the collection. My favorite by far was the white number with the waist cinched by an enourmous belt. I also love some of the orange brown gowns. There was certainly a lot of options for the goddess in all of us. Katie Stern is a great designer. Check out the standing room folks at the back of the tent. Someone tweeted that they sent out too many invites.

I’m just discovering Erin Fetherston. What a treat! This video is from a season ago and gives a great intro to this amazing designer. I can’t wait to blog her current Spring 2009 collection!

The joy of tweeting is in full swing this season in Bryant Park and throughout all of Twitterville. Throngs of fashionistas are delivering instantaneous, online, up-to-the minute information on what’s going on in the Bing Tent and at other Fashion venues in New York. And nothing, nothing escapes the attention of the beady-eyed twitterers . From long lines to get into certain shows to which model just tripped on the runway, from the fabulous gifts in goodie bags to who got standing room only in the tents, from being drenched by tropical storm Hanna to peeves and praise, information is coming in fast and furious! And exactly who is tweeting merrily away? We have stylists, editors, bloggers, and it girls. Here’s a list of twitterers I’ve found :
